Mike, “ZIP” as he is
known in the plastics
industry, has over 30 years
of experience in injection
molding and manufacturing.
Mike attended Ohio
University, with a Major in
Business Administration. His
professional work background
includes being a Process
Engineer, Tooling Engineer,
and Technology Development
Engineer for Fortune 500
companies. While working for
suppliers such as GM, Ford,
Daimler Chrysler, and Honda,
he has been able to develop
injection molding techniques
and methods of
troubleshooting which
improves the molding process
and in return saves
companies time and money.
Zip has experience with over
1500 different types of mold
designs and over 300
different grades of plastic
materials. He’s also
certified from the Kaizen
Institute and has conducted
over 25 Lean workshops
through out North America.
For the last eight years
Mike has presented several
seminars on injection
molding for events such as
the Business and Technology
Conference. On numerous
occasions Mike has been a
key note speaker on several
occasions at the RJG
executive overview.
Mike has conducted training
and consulting for five of
the top ten injection
molders in North America,
and has assisted companies
in Mexico, Canada, and
France. He has also worked
in the medical field with
Smith Medical, the third
largest medical supplier in
the world. Mike is one of
the leading consultants for
Daimler Chrysler, and BMW in
South Carolina.
In 1991 Mike started ZIPPS
LLC a plastics injection
molding training and
consulting company based in
Luray Virginia. He has
branch sales offices now in
Charlotte, North Carolina,
El Paso, Texas, Colorado
Springs, Colorado and
Lancaster, Ohio. ZIPPS
currently has nine employees
with seven training and
consulting professionals
working world wide to
provide the best injection
molding training and
consulting service to their
customers.
